COTTONWOOD — The City of Cottonwood and Verde Village Property Owners Association (VVPOA) have announced an Oct. 27 date for the return of the massive community-wide cleanup. A date change was made to the formerly April event to avoid the snow, rain, and cold conditions at that time of year.
The event, expected to amass hundreds of volunteers, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine throughout the city of Cottonwood and Verde Village in Yavapai County.
Joining forces with Cottonwood and Verde Village residents and the For Our City (FOC)/CARE, Inc. Program Volunteers’ cleaning and recycling efforts, the city of Cottonwood and Yavapai County Supervisor Chip Davis, are sponsoring free residential dumpsters to drop off household bulky wastes and discards that do not fit in conventional trash containers. From 8 a.m. to noon, FOC/CARE, Inc. Volunteers from faith-based communities, local businesses’ employees, and youth and non-profit organizations will scour targeted roadways, washes and streets to clean and beautify the area.
